Before taking my camera back to be fixed, or replaced, I think to take out the memory card. It's very likely I wouldn't get it back.

As I'm taking it out. I take the battery out too.

"It's very rectangular," I think to myself, and try flipping it around and trying it the other way.

It goes in. And behold, my camera works again.
