I'm playing with Lucy. She finds small round piece of plastic, and pretends to put it in her eye. "What's that, Lucy?" I ask her
"For Daddy's eye." She says, holding it on one finger and lifting one of my eyelids up with the other hand the way I do when putting in a contact lens. "Daddy's--" she thinks a bit, trying to come up with the words 'contact lens'. She finishes off in a mumble, realizing as she says them that the words are wrong: "Daddy's Santa clause."
