Mom: Hi Marky.
Me: Hi Mom. Sorry we missed Christmas.
Mom: Oh don't worry about it. It was a wash anyways.
Me: Sorry to hear it.
Mom: A wash is good Marky.
Me: Oh. Then congratulations.
Mom: Paul and Pat were here. And Kev and Mariko and Jade.
Me: Yeah. I saw pictures.
Mom: Have you seen the new Star Trek movie ?
Me: There's a new one?
Mom: The Joss Whedon one.
Me: I think it was JJ Abrams.
Mom: I don't think so, Marky, it was Joss Whedon, the one who played Wesley Crusher.
Me: I think that was Wil Wheaton.
Mom: Oh Marky, you're so smart. It must be that JJ one. There was an old Spock and a young Spock, and Kirk was a real rascal. We saw it on video this Christmas.
Me: I haven't seen it. Was it good?
Mom: Oh Marky, It was wonderful. The bad guy from Heroes was the young Spock. He was excellent. And Leonard Nimoy was the old Spock. He's always great.
Me: Except his album.
Mom: He's a singer?
Me: He had an album. I had heard it wasn't so good.
Mom: His album?
Me: No. The movie you were talking about.
Mom: Who said that?
Me: My sister in law.
Mom: Does she like space movies?
Me: I don't think so.
Mom: Then maybe here opinion isn't so important.
Me: You do like space movies?
Mom: Marky! I loved the original Star Trek, and Next Generation when I had the time to watch it.
Me: And you thought the JJ Abrams one was good?
Mom: You've got to see it Marky. It's the best of the Star Trek Movies since Wrath of Kahn.
