I go to Pusan for a seminar, and am riding the subway to Pusan National University. A fellow gets on the subway car and starts doing a spiel, trying to sell some flannel dish washing gloves. Or at least flannel gloves that you can use for dish washing.
"Men don't use gloves when they do the dishes!" I yell.
Really I don't yell this. He has delicate hands. By all means he should wear gloves.
His spiel goes on, and in it he compares the gloves to a little cloth that he pulls out. The brunt of the sermon seems to be that the gloves are better than the cloth.
As he finishes his commercial, he looks about the train car for buyers. People avoid eye contact. But when he looks my way I hold his eyes. "How much for the cloth?" I ask.
I see a guy chuckle, and that makes it worth it.
