I've watched enough shows now. I know that when you are leaving a room, and the boss tells you to "Clean up here," you are supposed to kill anyone in the room and dispose of any bodies.
It makes me wonder though about when our dad would come into the bedroom and shout at us to clean up. Trevor and I are sitting on the bunks reading comic books with the covers ripped off, Greg is playing Lego, and Rich is putting together a homemade radio.
Who was supposed to be cleaning, and who was supposed to be cleaned.
There were too many kids in that house. I see now that our dad was inviting a little survival of the fittest. Sure he should have been more direct. But I guess he thought that we watched enough TV to understand.
The never said that on the Smurfs though. Papa Smurf was always direct.
I didn't understand. But someone understood. And now we don't have a brother Greg.
We got two more brothers to replace him. I don't know that this says about the 'too many kids' theory. Dad continued to yell about cleaning up, but after that day, he was always a little more specific about what should be cleaned up.
